Introductory to Therapeutic Role Playing Games in Brentwood, TN
Do you see yourself as a therapist that thinks outside of the box?
Do you love working with clients utilizing a creative and experiential approach?
Do many of your clients struggle with finding words and expression to the experiences they are having?
This fall cohort is going to give six therapists a deep dive on how Role Playing Games can be used to super charge the therapeutic work and outcomes they see when working with individual and group clients.
Therapists will walk away from this introductory cohort having learned the mechanics of RPGs (Role Playing Games) in therapy, as well as having hands on experience playing RPGs.
There has been a massive increase in popularity amongst therapists and clients utilizing RPGs for therapeutic work. Don’t get left behind in this powerful tool to bring into therapy.
Role Playing Games is Useful
for clients who:
- Struggle with low self-esteem and confidence - RPGs help embody these experiences through their character creation.
- Therapy resistive clients - RPGs bring a neutral layer to therapy where a client is able to work on issues without it feeling as invasive
- Clients that are Neurodivergent - RPGs can be a more effective way to communicate and express than traditional talk therapy.

Before Registering?
Therapists can expect to learn:
- The mechanics of playing an RPG game.
- Hands on experience in playing the game yourself.
- therapeutic goals that can be accomplished when playing RPGs in a group space or an individual space
- How to create encounters during a campaign that help increase a sense of community between players.
- How to create encounters that teach skill-building and emotional regulation.
- Navigating difficult subjects that can arise in RPGs.
- Creating closure and celebration for both the character and client.
RPGs are stigmatized as a group of nerdy middle schoolers dressing up and acting out funny voices (hello, stranger things).
However, RPGs DOES NOT need to involve you acting, performing, or dressing up.
Think of it more as narrative therapy wrapped up into a game.
Fall cohort will meet one Friday every month August – November
