I’m Lauren Baumgarten

I help women and teen girls that are fearful of disappointing others, give themselves permission to make mistakes and embrace their imperfections.

I am a Senior Level Marriage and Family Therapy Intern at Replenish Her.

If there were one thing, I could tell the younger version of myself, it would be to tell myself that worthiness does not come from how well you perform, or what other's perceptions of you are, but from merely existing and showing up as you are.

If you are struggling with feeling like a disappointment to your friends or family; or feeling like you are constantly making mistakes, I want to invite you to come and work with me. I feel passionate about helping my clients understand that it is ok to not be perfect. That by giving yourself permission to mess up, is not only freeing but also empowering in becoming a wiser and stronger human being. It is my mission to help you create a relationship with yourself that is not centered around constant self-criticism, but instead one of building up your self-confidence and compassion.

I do my best work with women and teens who…

Desire to stop their perfectionistic patterns and learn to embrace the mess.

Seek to grow in their relationships with themselves and others.

Yearn to feel confident and empowered inside their own body.

Wish to wake up every morning and see the good in the world, rather than just the bad.

I am a Graduate Counseling student at Trevecca University in the Marriage and Family Therapy Program. Previously, I worked for 6 years in the corporate setting doing sales and account management roles. I switched career paths because I was not finding the fulfillment I desired in the corporate industry, and knew that the counseling path was my calling. I'm a continuous learner, and you will often catch me reading books and listening to podcasts. I love looking at people from the perspective of their family system, and how their family’s story informs each person’s unique experiences today.

I am being supervised by Christine Finnegan, LPC-MHSP, the owner of Replenish Her Counseling. I love to use Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) techniques as well as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to help my clients work through distressing thoughts and feelings and learn to no longer feel stuck inside of these thoughts and feelings. I also love utilizing narrative therapy, as well as Internal Family System (IFS) approaches to help my clients deepen their own understanding of themselves.

When I am not with clients you will find me hanging out with my husband and our dog Sophie, trying a new restaurant with friends, spending time outside, spinning, or planning my next getaway!
