I’m Laurel Haskamp
I provide Individual Art Therapy Sessions for women and teens with the goal of helping them learn new ways to express themselves creatively and deepen their relationships with others.
I am the Art Therapist at Replenish Her.
I love seeing the healing power of the art process transform lives by freeing the soul through self-expression and creative development.
Everyone can make art and participate in art therapy. The focus is placed on the process of making art and not on how it looks. It is in the making of art that the healing takes place.
My goal is to introduce others to the power of art therapy as an effective outlet for difficult emotions and as a path toward greater self-awareness and increased self-compassion.
I do my best work in helping women and teens…
I have worked for over twenty years in the mental health field.
I have provided art therapy and psychoeducation to a variety of age groups. After receiving my Master’s Degree as a registered Art Therapist, I provided art therapy services for multiple intensive inpatient programs including adolescents and pre-teens; women facing issues of anxiety, trauma, and depression; and adults in emotional distress. I also have a passion for mindfulness and how it fosters awareness in the present moment by observing thoughts and emotions in the body. This passion led me to the Osher Center for Integrative Medicine at Vanderbilt where I completed the Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction program allowing me to incorporate these tools into my art therapy groups.
I love supporting women and youth in the Nashville community through the unique process of creative art therapy.
When I am not working with clients, you will find me walking my dogs, reading, creating art, supporting my vibrant adult daughters, and enjoying time with my wonderful husband in our newly-empty nest.
