I want to tell my clients that I'm excited to learn from them, with them, and support them during our work together!

I’ve always been interested in the intersection of health and wellness with society.

I graduated from Vanderbilt University with dual degrees in Medicine, Health, and Society (MHS) and Psychology. While at Vanderbilt, I also had the opportunity to study abroad in Copenhagen (the happiest city in the world!) in a public health program for five months.

I knew I wanted to help people live healthier lives, so after graduation I started working for a healthcare technology company that makes products for patients. Things like patient portals, online billing, price transparency, etc – all products aimed at making healthcare in the US more accessible to patients. While there, I worked in a variety of roles in strategy, Human Resources (HR), and product management, which also led me to be transferred around the country to three different offices (Nashville, Atlanta, San Francisco) where I each lived for a year. But after four years at the company, I felt like something was missing. I knew I was meant to do something bigger that could impact people individually, which led me to apply to the counseling program at Vanderbilt!

I am now pursuing a M. Ed in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Vanderbilt and will be a “Double Dore” when I graduate in May 2025. I believe my prior corporate experience gives me a really interesting lens to work with my clients who may also be facing a fork in the road in their own career journeys and life transition

I’m always asking – what systems enable some people to be well while others are ill? What barriers prevent certain people from accessing care? How can we dismantle those systems and barriers to provide equitable care for all?

I love working with modalities that help me explore those big questions, especially Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), EMDR, and Strengths-based and Person-focused techniques.

Outside of work, my hobbies include Going to restaurant openings and influencer events in Nashville (I take photos for a food Instagram!), FaceTiming my family’s dogs, traveling, trying new recipes I see on TikTok, and listening to the Normal Gossip podcast. I have a special love for rescue dogs (especially yellow labs since my family has two), reading books from the NYT bestseller list, and eating pasta of any and all kinds.

I do my best work helping people…

  • Navigate difficult transitions.
  • Build up their self-esteem and confidence in themselves after difficult experiences
  • Understand and create strategies for coping with chronic pain
  • Understand and break old patterns and ways of thinking that may not work anymore in order to move forward
