Ready to get Started?
During my final semester of undergrad, I developed an increased interest in the idea of pursuing counseling as a career. As a Psychology major, I discovered a genuine passion for understanding human behavior and the reasons behind it. This sparked my desire to continue studying psychology and my aspiration to aid those in need. By chance, I stumbled upon counseling and had an epiphany that this is the path I want to pursue. Particularly, I have always been eager to assist teenagers and young adults, and upon finding my true vocation in counseling, I became certain that I want to focus on working with this specific population.
I am a student at Trevecca University working towards my Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling.
In 2018, I transferred from Austin Peay State University to MTSU where I focused on Psychology as my major, complemented by a minor in Mental Health and Family Studies. Concurrently, I worked as a part-time Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) at a nursing facility, where I provided assistance to senior citizens with their daily activities. Upon completing my bachelor’s degree in psychology from MTSU in 2021, I joined Oasis Center, an organization dedicated to assisting at-risk youth between the ages of 13 and 17. In my role as a residential counselor and learning center coordinator at the emergency shelter, I not only facilitate the development of critical life skills among the young residents but also establish meaningful relationships with them. Moreover, I have led multiple group sessions focusing on psychoeducation topics such as Juneteenth, Black History Month, and money management.
Outside of work, I enjoy talking long walks in the park and enjoying nature, painting, dancing, working out, reading, watching my comfort Disney movies and shows, hanging out my family and friends, and trying new sushi restaurants.
I have a strong interest in several therapeutic modalities, including Attachment theory, Narrative Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Trauma-Focused CBT (TF-CBT), Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Emotionally Focused Individual Therapy (EFIT). These resonate with me most because they offer unique approaches and techniques that can effectively support clients in their healing and personal growth journeys.
I do my best work helping teens and young adults…
- Who feel withdrawn from the world and want to reconnect with those around them
- Create a better understanding of themselves and their past experiences to foster self-compassion and hope for the future
- Collaborate on overcoming negative thought cycles, depression, and anxiety
I am being supervised by Christine Finnegan, LPC-MHSP, Clinical Director at Replenish Her Counseling; as well as my Trevecca School Supervisor. This means that my clinical work is reviewed with both Christine and my Trevecca Professor, to ensure the best quality care is rendered to my clients.
