Throughout my undergraduate studies, I had the opportunity to work with kids, student athletes, and adolescents. During my volunteer experience with OurHouse and student athlete development at both Auburn University and University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB), I have increased my confidence in working with adolescents to promote positive mental health. During my senior internship, I worked at a therapeutic private practice as a Microcurrent Technician. I worked with kids, young adults, athletes, and adults.
I do some of my best work:
- Helping student athletes navigate anxiety and stress
- Collaborating with clients to create grounding techniques that work for them
- Creating an empathetic and safe space for clients to explore their feelings without judgement
I have a special interest working with student athletes. I want to help this population in particular learn how to cope with anxieties and stressors that come along with their personal lives, education, athletics, and NIL deals.
I am trained in Microcurrent Neurofeedback – a therapeutic tool that conditions the sympathetic nervous system to produce healthier brain wave patterns. Chronic issues associated with the sympathetic nervous system can include headaches, elevated blood pressure, hormone imbalances and compromised immune system. This non-invasive treatment can lessen symptoms and treat many mental disorders associated with the sympathetic nervous system including PTSD, ADHD, anxiety, depression and more.
Outside of work, one of my favorite hobbies is going to crossfit with my husband. I also love to read, watch sports (war eagle!!), and bake!
